This week was okay because we just came back from Thanksgiving break. There wasn’t a lot to do. For ISM, I worked on my original work, and found a website with all the accounting ethics. To break it down, I looked at Responsibility and Public Interest, for research assessment 11. The responsibilities of an accountant is to simply maintain the public trust. They should also be able to present financial statements to the free market. The next one I looked at was public interest. Accountants work with the public's interest, and highlights how accounting contributes to maintaining the unfair society, working to address problems through public sharing of findings.
Another topic I researched was the history of AICPA, American Institute of Certified Public Accountant. The trace of AICPA goes back to the American Association of Public Accountants (AAPA). In 1916 and 1917, two other institutes were founded. Institute of Public Accountant and American Institute of Accountants. Later, in 1921, the American Society of Public Accountants was founded. In 2012, AICPA got with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, which created the Global Management Accountants Principle.
Overall, I got a really good start to my original work, and am hoping to find more helpful information.
