First Step!

I never knew that it would be intimidating, having to step out of my comfort zone and say a simple introduction speech. But, I am glad I decided to take this class, and faced my fear of public speaking. Throughout this class, I will constantly look for opportunities to speak to new people, ask them questions, and learn how to speak professionally, and clearly like them.

The first two weeks of ISM were very informative, and got to learn more about this course. I realized that this course is very fast paced and needs a lot of research to do. Although I can say I am somewhat confident giving presentations, it is something that I need to work on. These first two weeks were pretty easy and simple, but now the question is, where should I begin my research? Since Forensic accounting is all about financial fraud investigation, I can start my research by looking at some financial fraud cases and learning more about them. This will help me learn what type of fraudes do forensic accountants solve, and from there I will hopefully learn how to solve financial crimes. The main takeaway from these past couple of weeks is how many different types of careers are in this world. Just by majoring in accounting, I can go in 15 different directions. When I looked at professional forensic accountants profiles on linkedin, my excitement for this course increased and I hope to undergo all the difficulties, and adventures waiting for me.
